C., is brimming with college students having the experience of a lifetime. From the Capitol Building to DuPont Circle and from Georgetown to Old Town, interns are filling the city with optimism, energy, and new points of view. At the Washington Internship Institute, we are especially reminded of this, as our outstanding young professionals recently arrived for the summer. Our summer interns are working in government, law, journalism, nonprofit management, healthcare, and foreign and domestic policy, and are contributing daily to the life of the city. As you think about your fall semester, I hope that you'll consider spending it in Washington, D. C. You may take a midnight stroll on the National Mall, attend one of the many community festivals, peruse the halls of the National Museum of American History, or read an original manuscript at the Library of Congress. This fall will be an especially exciting time to be in Washington, as you will be able to participate in the many activities surrounding the 2012 election! Washington, D. C., is full of ambitious and bright young people, and the fall is a wonderful time for you to network and build friendships.
